Filed under: Misc, Photo — Jason Lewis at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Converse has a new blog called “Play” and I’m honored to be a part of it. Starting today, there will be 5 blogs profiling 5 creatives, with each blog representing one of the 5 senses: sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing.

Today, “Play” introduces everyone to one of my favorite people, Maia Lee Ruth. Maia took the time to reinterpret some of my recent photos, check them out here and stay tuned for more profiling and collaborations over the next week or so!

I received an email from family in S. Korea announcing that we lost our good friend Emil Goh. He died of a heart attack in Seoul where he was living.

The news of Emil passing suddenly has hit me pretty hard as we became good friends in my month in Seoul last summer. Beyond being a good friend, he spent many days introducing me to the amazing art scene in Seoul as well as people like the Chillzine girls, 360 Sounds and Daily Projects amongst others. He brought me to art openings and introduced me to fantastic dinner spots throughout the city. He was easily one of the most selfless AND talented people I’ve been fortunate to meet and I feel blessed to have called him a friend.

Here’s Emil, a few of his designs and some of the people we encountered together.

Seems like my homegirl and major overseas inspiration Maia Lee is doing her thing in her first year at Fabrica.

Meet the lovely, meravigliosa, completely wild and creative creature from Korea, Maia. Amazing things will come from her bag.” jqin, Fabrica
